Friday already?

Morning! 

How is everyone doing? I hope you are being healthy and happy! 

Well, I didn’t get time to post yesterday I was so busy plus Henry wouldn’t nap.

So this is what I ate yesterday 

B: scrambled eggs with Turkey slices, avocado a bit of rice and broccoli 

L: err more rice haha with some chicken slices and peas 

D: chicken with a whole bag of stir fry some rice.

Snacks: slim fast bar, wheat free cookies and a small glass of rose. 

I’ve been tracking my nutrition and calories in my fitness pal and yesterday I did go over my 1300 kcal limit and I had too many carbs.

I’m still trying to have loads of veg, 500kcal of carbs (white rice and potatoes) 500kcal of protein and 500kcal of fat. 

Yesterday I had 44% carbs 20% protein and 36% fat. 

I have been weighing everything so I can track exactly what I’m eating until I get the hang of knowing how much stuff weighs just by looking at them.

I am finding that I am full and don’t really need lunch so I will try to go more with my appetite than ‘must eat 3 meals’. 

i don’t know if it’s hormones or coz its nearly spring but I’ve been feeling much happier lately. Could it be my new diet?

Well actually, I did have a bratty screaming fit to myself when my internet wouldn’t work and timed out every time I tried to pay for something online. Haha! Now that was part pms and part stupid effin internet. I’m kind of project managing the refurb of my mums place and its flamin stressful (especially when the Internet is being a bleep)

My weight is the same 70.7. I was hoping for a dramatic weight loss by now. I’ll have to be more careful and up the green vegetables ante.

I’ll try to post over the weekend and I MUST listen to some more podcasts to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Day 2 of rice and potatoes 

hello hello. Well I’ve had a busy busy day and I am knackered.

I went out early for a walk to my sisters house and then my mum walked back to my house  with me so she could get some exercise in too.

So if you read my post yesterday I am trying out The Perfect Health Diet. 

Let me tell you again, that I’m normally NEVER full. EVER.

Yesterday I ate:

B: James uneaten dinner of rice tuna peas 

L: ham, scrambled eggs, peas, 75g baked potato

D: broccoli,Carrots,75g mash and a fish fillet and peas.

For the first time in my life I was full and could not finish my dinner. Usually I will eat til everything is gone and then go look for more food. Awful!

  • But I actually had to leave a little piece of fish broccoli and mash. I couldn’t have another bite.

Weird!

I was astonished. And a bit smug. I felt full of energy all day and actually felt really really happy. 

I don’t know what was going on but I felt  good.

After dinner even tho I wasn’t hungry I had a yoghurt and 25g of 85% dark chocolate. (This was a couple of hours after dinner) then just before bed I was so nauseous I had to keep running to toilet but thankfully I wasn’t sick. Strange! I wonder what that was about?!

So I am feeling positive about the diet (diet meaning lifestyle)

My weight was down another 300g to 70.7, 11.2, 155.6!

Ok so

This is my new plan. 

Well, yesterday, after buying an iPhone on eBay Sunday night I can finally listen to podcasts.

I looked up ‘low carb’and Jimmy Moore came up. I chose the podcast about hunger and satiety with guest Paul Jaminet. 

Well, I must say it was very interesting.

He talked a little about carbs being needed in the diet. I googled him on my old phone while I listened and found his website ‘the perfect health diet’.

Now, eating low carb I did have potato quite often and would still lose weight so I assumed if I didn’t eat any that I would lose weight faster.

I also have the CRAZY CARB CRAVING constantly and would look longingly at bread and sweets.

I was even eating low carb bread (wheat) and, well, as you can figure out from my previous posts, I’ve been quite bad and bingey lately.

Now I am wondering if I needed a little carbs after all?

Now, I’m all for low carb and I definitely think wheat is bad and addictive.

So I bought his book on my kindle and have started reading the UK edition.

I’m not very far into it yet, but it is written by 2 scientists who were getting sick and then spent 5 years researching food and how it is used in the body. (Obviously a lot more complicated than that lol)

Soo, the crux of the diet is like paleo but with some dairy and includes potato, sweet potatoes and rice. 

It includes meat and fish and lots of veg. 

From what I gather its a lb of everything per day.

1lb of meat/ fish/eggs

1lb sugary veg including carrots peas plus fruit and berries

1lb of starches like potato or rice

As much low calorie veg

Tiny bit of dark choc, alcohol etc.

Yesterday you may have read that my plan was not to eat lol as at the time I just didn’t have a better plan.

In the end I had: L: broccoli with ham and cheese

D: tuna, pak choi, onion, peas, Brussels sprouts, and rice. 200g of cooked rice to be exact, which let me tell you is massive. And delicious haha. 

That evening James decided he wanted a pizza from dominos, which he got. It smelt delicious and he said ‘have some’. I planned to have some, but in the end I decided I was actually full and didn’t really need or want any. Normally I wouldn’t have been able to resist. I would have been craving carbs big time. 

This is a big revelation for me and I really hope it works, as previously I’ve been so all for low carb. I still believe low carb is better than a standard diet and fingers crossed, for me, rice and potato can be a regular visitor to my plate.
